Stagecoaches used to roll to a stop here in the mid-1800s, and today the Coach House still offers the traveler a comfortable bed and room, considerably updated in amenities, as each of the three upstairs rooms has a charming private bathroom. The charming 1839 stone and brick duplex, one of the oldest in Mineral Point, was dubbed The Mousehole for a Cornwall sea coast village named Mousehole (pronounced Mauzel). Each of the two handsomely appointed apartments features a full, furnished kitchen; a comfy living room; two bedrooms, one with queen-size bed and one with two twin beds; and a large bathroom with shower. Take a romantic stroll through Shake Rag Alley, right next door. |
