Stroll the tree-lined, rustic paths of Shake Rag Alley’s 2.5 magical acres of lush gardens with the ever-flowing Federal Spring and the 1828 Miner’s Log Cabin. Explore fine art galleries and antique shops in historic downtown Mineral Point Wisconsin, only a short walk away, and a scant 45 minutes from Madison Wisconsin.
THE COACH HOUSE at 18 SHAKE RAG STREET
Stagecoaches used to roll to a stop
here in the mid-1800s, and today the Coach House still offers the traveler
a comfortable bed and room, considerably updated in amenities, as each of the upstairs
rooms has a charming private bathroom. All rooms feature artwork by regional
artists. A comfortable commons room offers a fireplace and free wireless service. Our guests are invited to explore
the rustic paths and tree-lined gardens surrounding eight historic buildings
and the forever bubbling spring of Shake Rag Alley.
THE MOUSEHOLE at 14 SHAKE RAG STREET
The charming 1839 stone and brick duplex, one of the oldest in
Mineral Point, was dubbed The Mousehole for a Cornwall sea coast village named
Mousehole (pronounced Mauzel). Each of the two handsomely appointed apartments
features a full, furnished kitchen; a comfy living room; two bedrooms, one with
queen-size bed and one with two twin beds; and a large bathroom with shower.
Take a romantic stroll through Shake Rag
Alley, right next door.
